Hi, Im Echo. I am a beautiful 5 yr old female German Shepherd who was surrendered, along with my friend Duchess. Because no foster homes for large dogs were available, we had to be put into a kennel, which was very traumatic.
However, I am now in a loving foster home -I love it! I am eating up the human attention. I absolutely love my ball and Ill bring it and sit patiently for it to be tossed in the air so I can catch it. I know the word bedtime, walk and find your ball and sit very well. I am learning the off command, when I want to jump on someone or on the counter. When I hear off I go to a sit position and wait for my well deserved praise and attention. I know when I am behaving well and will go sit by the cookie jar when I think Ive done well. Although I do love attention, I am very happy to just be in bed myself watching over my ball.
My foster mom says I am getting really good on walks, I do seem very uneasy when we first leave, but I calm right down after a short while. I cant be unleashed or Ill run! I do have some leash aggression, so my foster mom is working on this with me. I am a good guard dog and let you know if anything or anyone comes near the yard but Id be more likely to lick them to death than hurt them! dont like cats or small animals, I go nuts when I see animals like squirrels. I am uneasy around traffic and dont like sirens.
My foster mom recommends that I be the only dog in a home, and have an owner with good skills to help me continue with my training.
My manners are improving so much, and I now realize that by greeting people by sitting gets me better attention than jumping on them! I am very eager to please.
